Tempting the Senses and Palates

If you too are a foodie, cast your mind back. ​I was five and my earliest memory of food tempting my senses, beyond a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, was on a train trip across Canada from Vancouver to Montreal. It was a half an avocado filled with shrimp in a thousand island sauce. Then at twelve, what really excited my palate, was a silky smooth Alfredo fettuccine at Alfredo's in Rome. Maybe it was the way it was served, by Alfredo himself with the gold fork and spoon given to him by Actors, Mary Pickford, and Douglas Fairbanks.

Here I hope to tempt your senses and palates with a smattering of restaurant reviews without reservations and recipes from my Chef's Table... cooking at home for two.


Born To Roam

I was bitten by the travel bug at an early age. I travel because I have an insatiable appetite to explore, dream and and discover new sights, cultures and human experiences. Someone once said, 'it's not the destination, it's the journey'. It can be as much about the planning of a trip, because you have seen a picture or heard a story about a certain place that has captured your imagination. Then you arrive and everything bombards your senses, of what you see before you, what you hear, taste and smell. You come alive in a new world, different from the one you left. It's the most exciting part of my life I look forward to. I encourage you to embrace what the world has to offer in all her places and people you have yet to see.
