Bella Vista has a new and very welcome restaurant, Rhythm and Q. Headed up by, Owner and Executive Chef Rich Siker, a disciplined 35 year veteran chef (originally from Pittsburgh, Chef for Catering Concepts and Pinnacle Country Club locally - not too shabby) and passionate long time guitar player, hence the name that brings the two together. Acoustic improve shows are already starting to gain in popularity.
Live music is a nice touch, like guitarists, Cliff Shelder, and Michael Bryne. The third theme, is Rich and wife, Brenda's, support for war veterans, who they believe, are not celebrated enough. Each Wednesday Vet's receive a 15% discount on their meal - how cool is that! There is even a Veterans Wall display showing honored veterans.
It's comfort food, in the sense of traditional BB-Q and then this chefs twists on originals like, Ozark Pig Rolls, pulled pork, smoked mozzarella, veggies in an egg roll wrap, fried and served with a spicy ranch dressing, now that's a first. The dry rubbed baby back ribs and Cornish Game Hen - off the charts good and Rich's take on the Dippin' Chips with your choice of chicken, pork, brisket piled on tortilla chips with cilantro, tomato, avocado, black olives, seasoned sour cream, roasted green chili and smothered in smoked cheddar queso, makes for one hearty and memorable starter. Having opened in early December, they now have a Beer Licence (they are working on wine - hard liquor, would be a plus for the old things, that enjoy a real cocktail pre-dins - just sayin') there is already a loyal following for lunches, dinners and even Saturday (and Sunday 11-2:30pm) Brunch menu like, homemade jalapeno cheddar biscuits & gravy or the Ozarks Eggs Benny, now either of those will make for a brisk weekend walk afterwards. This is an original, with everything made from scratch with an emphasis on fresh ingredients, taste, friendly staff and home-like atmosphere. Understand paper napkins vs linen, but personally, I'd like to see real cutlery vs plastic knives & forks.
Restaurants have a tendency to come and go in Bella Vista. My bet is, the buzz that will resonate out there, via word of mouth, social media, is this place could soon be on Guy Fieri's, Flavor Town list of Diners Drive-Ins and Dives. Make a plan to check out Rhythm and Q, get into the groove and savor the flavors of this tasty new little restaurant.
Note; R&Q is Closed Monday's and if you have a large party, I'd strongly recommend calling: to make a reservation, as Rhythm and Q only seats 48 - take out is available too.
